Community Service

Community Service is an important component of the learning environment at Cistercian. All projects are selected by CPS students elected to the Community Service council.

Cistercian's Hurricane Harvey Relief Effort

We are all extremely grateful that Hurricane Harvey is now back on land and is finally moving away from those areas of Southeast Texas inundated by record flood levels these last few days! Our hearts certainly go out to the families who have lost loved ones and to all of those impacted by the terrible devastation left in its wake. As we continue to pray for the victims of the hurricane, many are also looking for additional ways to help.

In coordination with the Catholic Schools Office of the Diocese of Dallas, those Cistercian families wishing to provide immediate financial assistance are encouraged to do so through Catholic Charities or the American Red Cross, which is also accepting blood donations.

In addition, to assist those evacuees arriving to North Texas our upper school students have taken the initiative with the Red Cross of Dallas to coordinate Cistercian’s collection of the following much needed items:

Bath towels, hand towels, wash cloths, shaving cream, disposable razors, cotton swabs, tooth brushes, tooth paste, soap, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, baby powder, wet wipes, chapstick, feminine products, diapers, toilet paper, nail clippers, and men's, women's and children's underwear/ socks (in packages).

All items should be new/unused and should be brought by the boys to their respective classrooms before Friday afternoon of this week. Delivery will be made to the Red Cross on Friday, September 1, and again next week on Friday, September 8.
