Introduction
The Mandelbrot Contest is one of most highly regarded national math contests for high school students. Especially valuable are the team contests which feature proof and explanation of fascinating results. Cistercian has participated regularly since the fall of 1999, twice winning the national championship for level B in the small school division (under 500 students in Upper School).

Results: 15th in the nation among schools under 500

Results: First in Nation among all small school (<500) and private schools! 7th in Nation overall

Results: 1st in Texas among all schools, 4th in nations among schools under 500; 17th overall! Same as Level A! (one team listed was from Romania!!)

Level B Teams Wins National Championship in the Small School Division(<500) !!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats to team members David Daly, Bill Finkenkeller, Adam Harris, and captain Michael O'Brien. They also placed 7th overall out of 70 of the top schools in the country.
They were assisted by the fine individual results of James Connor, Anthony Ngo, Adam Reeves, and Michael Tinker.
The varsity A team placed 5th in the nation in the small school division. Congrats to Chris Edgemon, and seniors Richard Guiltinan, Grady McGahan, and captain Allen Wan, and alternates Dominic Seitz and Tanner Murrey.
