Introduction
Since the 1980's Rice has run one of the top regional high school math contests in the country, often in conjunction with and using much the same problems as like contests at Harvard and Stanford. Featuring perhaps the hardest contest problems a student may see outside the USAMO, the Rice contest is always a daunting test of problem solving acumen. Cistercian has done well at Rice, recently being twice power contest champion, and placing a number of students in the top ten in a number of subject events, a noteworthy accomplishment for any student.
