Jesuit College Prep Downed by Cistercian Prep

285 vs. 360

Our Varsity [manqué] team QB went over to Jesuit yesterday for our once-a-month dual matches with area High Schools. We managed to beat them, 360 vs. 285. This margin of victory was too close for us, but we labored under some additional difficulties:

        1. More and more, we are playing and practicing on NAQT style questions - [college level] these questions are more difficult, more sophisticated in their answers, and simply a different style of playing.

        2. At Jesuit, the questions are written in a second style called NAC [National Academic Challenge]

which are simply much easier, shorter, and too often a lot 'sillier' than NAQT. Our guys simply DON'T like this style of "kiddie question". The bottom line is that we tend to be at a bit of a disadvantage when we play a LOT of NAQT and then have to quickly switch gears and go back to NAC. But, that's just too bad for us.

Our team: James Hansell / El Capitan Maximo

                  Kenneth "The Flying Duck-Hat" Spence,

Erik 'Meistersinger' Tanner;  and a special thanks to

Patrick, The Fireman's Hat' Spence who did a nice job of substitution.

We look forward to having Vincent Zimmern back on board - after a long college trip, he had tons of stuff to make up, so, we had Patrick help us.  Please offer congrats to our guys.

Special thanks to Mrs. Gina Tanner for helping with scorekeeping.
