Summer 2008

The college counseling office at Cistercian has received information about several opportunities for the upper school boys for the summer of 2008. This listing is purely informational. Many boys will spend time with family this summer, pursue their hobbies, their own reading, athletics, employment and volunteer work. We hope the boys will relax and take the time to enjoy whatever experiences they choose to pursue.

• Boston University
  • Offers two programs for high school students-
  • HIGH SCHOOL HONORS is for rising high school seniors. It is a six week residential program in which students can either take two BU undergraduate courses, earning up to 8 credits, or conduct scientific research.
  • Summer challenge is a two-week residential program for entering sophomores, juniors or seniors. Students enroll in two non-credit seminars.

  • offers a special program: MITE: an Introduction to Engineering 2008.
  • This program is free of charge and is open to students who have overcome any social or economic hardships as well as outstanding African American, Hispanic and Native American students.
