Introducing the 50th Anniversary Campaign

Cistercian's 50th Anniversary Campaign, the most ambitious capital campaign in the school's history, was launched in the spring of 2007. It was projected at that time that the campaign's $15 million goal could take up to four years to raise. However, as of April 2008, just a year after the campaign's official launch, $8.5 million had already been committed.

The Campaign was launched to expand and renovate the school's original two buildings, both constructed in the mid-sixties, which house the sixteen Middle and Upper School classrooms. The renovation of the Upper School began in March 2008 and will be completed in time for classes in August. Middle School renovations are scheduled for the following summer, in 2009.

The next facet of the Campaign is to complete the funding for a 20 acre purchase which will insulate the school and abbey from development to the east, just as the campus is protected on all other sides. The land also will provide Cistercian with the flexibility to add an eastern entrance in the future, which may become necessary with the expansion of State Highway 114.

The Campaign's additional components will include the construction of a student services center and an increase to the existing endowment in order to provide for the maintenance of the newly renovated and expanded facilities.
